The renewable energy sector in Scotland has grown significantly over the last decade. In 2015, 59.4% of gross electricity consumption was met by renewable sources in Scotland and as such the the transformational change to a low carbon economy will continue to be a national objective for the foreseeable future.
MFA has experience in the renewables sector and can offer planning support, advice and guidance on a range of projects from single wind turbines to anaerobic digestion (AD) plants. We have helped clients secure planning permission for a range of turbines and AD plants. Most recently, we obtained planning permission for an AD plant in Dumfries and Galloway using existing by-products (manure/slurry) produced on the dairy farm to produce 3.5 million m³ of gas per annum.
