MFA was commissioned by a private client to explore options on how to sensitively extend this traditional property within the Conservation Area to provide increased garage/storage facilities.
The development involved the demolition of an existing small scale ancillary structure to the rear of the property which was used as the primary entrance to the dwellinghouse. The contemporary design solution overcame the existing lack of entrance legibility by greatly enhancing the arrival experience at the rear whilst meeting the client's brief.
The use of zinc cladding, dressed ashlar with textured acrylic render and an oak door with side screens ensured that the extension seamlessly integrated with the architectural qualities of the original dwellinghouse.
