Leisure Centre

MFA were delighted to work with Clayton Caravan Park by providing both our planning and architectural  services for a leisure building which included a heated indoor swimming pool, toddler’s pool, spa pool, sauna, gymnasium and café.

The building was sited near the caravan park entrance to allow for easy access within the park and to ensure that it formed a natural extension adjacent to the established central car park and amenity/play facilities.  The design approach sought to harmonise the leisure centre with the existing reception and restaurant buildings in terms of material and form.

The building is A-framed structure and as the span of the pool was wide, a light silver coloured metal roof was used to project a modern look which complemented the stone and render walling.  Timber cladding was also used for the feature portals to create a tactile and warm feeling entrance and rear viewing area for the pool jacuzzi.

The centre opened in November 2020.
