Conversion & extension of lean-to canopy

Fife Folk Museum, Ceres

The development related to Fife Folk Museum, a 17th century weigh house and pair of early 19th century weavers’ cottages, all Category A listed and situated within the heart of Ceres Conservation Area.  Working on behalf of Fife Folk Museum Trust, MFA secured both planning and listed building consent to enclose and extend a dilapidated lean-to canopy at the rear to provide a multifunctional space and tearoom as well as a new and improved visitor entrance with disabled access.

MFA proactively undertook extensive pre-application discussions with representatives from Fife Council and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to ensure a successful outcome which had the full support of HES prior to submission.
