Denmuir Arches is a luxury, contemporary conversion of a 19th century B listed farm steading, set within the grounds of a working family farm near Newburgh.
The sympathetic renovation and conversion to holiday accommodation was completed in 2011, using local materials in a context faithful to the original style of the farm steadings. The development was completed to the highest standards, with four double bedrooms, three ensuite bathrooms, and a spacious living area and kitchen, all within the original stone steading building. The seven historic arches are still in place, allowing natural light to illuminate the rooms.
In 2012, the project received an award from the Cupar and North Fife Preservation Society. The Assessor praised the development as “a restoration of a ruinous building carried out with exceptional care, commendable restraint, and without additions to form a single residence of great character. It sets a standard for others to emulate.”
