MFA were tasked with a challenging brief to design and obtain planning permission and building warrant for a 3 bed house on a very modest plot of vacant ground which met plot ratio standards and protected existing amenity levels of adjoining households.
The site was located in a residential cul-de-sac comprising of room in the roof semi-detached and terraced houses with courtyard parking. In order to provide the level of accommodation required by the client’s brief whilst safeguarding the established residential character of the area, the dwelling was designed with room in the roof accommodation with dormers to the front and rear. An open plan kitchen/living/dining area was provided on the ground floor along with an accessible bathroom and bedroom.
