MFA was appointed to seek planning permission to rebuild and extend a small ruinous cottage which sat within a spacious, elevated plot on Cults Hill with views across the surrounding countryside.
In order to provide a good sized 3 bedroom family home, the proposals entailed erecting a traditionally designed rear extension along with raising the wallhead by a modest 400mm. These alterations coupled with the use of stone, render and larch cladding ensured that the extended dwelling retained the character and appearance of the original cottage in terms of form, scale and detail.
