MFA were commissioned to provide a full architectural service for a replacement dwelling within Raith Estate, a desirable residential estate built in the 1970s comprising of a variety of housetypes and storey heights.
The proposals entailed demolishing a two storey detached dwelling and double garage which occupied a large spacious plot to provide a light, modern and well proportioned accessible 3 bed dwellinghouse which took advantage of the south facing rear garden.
The brief was to provide space standards which were similar to their existing property with accommodation provided all on one level. The palette of materials chosen sought to reflect to other properties within the Estate including facing brick and interlocking grey slate effect tiles. An insulated timber kit was supplemented with renewable energy technologies to reduce its carbon footprint.
