MFA was instructed by Kingdom Housing Association to design and secure consent for an affordable housing development on the south east edge of Cupar.
At a time when the Scottish Government has promised to deliver 50,000 affordable homes by 2021, this development provides 49 new homes for social rent to meet the much needed local housing requirements. Comprising of a mixture of one to five bedroom properties, including semi-detached units, bungalows and cottage flats, the new homes have been attractively designed to meet modern day standards and to meet Kingdom Housing Association’s high quality design criteria. The specification includes enhanced thermal insulation standards, energy monitoring meters, water efficiency measures and photovoltaic panels. In addition, all of the dwellings have been designed to comply with the Silver Level sustainability standards, the Housing for Varying Needs criteria; ‘Designing for Streets’ principles and Secured by Design accreditation. Construction work started on site in October 2016 with the first hand over taking place in November 2017 and with final homes completed in July 2018.
