Working on behalf of Drumoig Developments Ltd, MFA designed a number of bespoke detached high quality family and executive dwellings ranging from 3 to 5 bedrooms all set within large gardens. These light and spacious dwellings include renewable technologies such as air source underfloor heating.
The overall housing layout was informed by not only the physical site constraints but also by taking cognisance of the planning authority's request to reduce housing numbers to allow for a sensitive expansion of Drumoig. The density of the housing takes reference from the spacious plots of the existing properties and follows a similar layout and pattern of development.
The design aspiration was to create a better entrance to the village by introducing housing on the south side of Forgan Drive around its junction with Pickletillum Avenue to form a stronger sense of place. In addition, the masterplan led approach ensured that the development would read as a logical infill between the three separate and isolated housing estates which are arranged in cul-de-sacs around the golf related facilities.
