Situated within an established residential area in north Kirkcaldy, the site comprised of an existing derelict semi-detached dwelling, its curtilage and a small area of public open space.  MFA was appointed to design two detached modern 3 bedroom dwellinghouses and obtain both planning permission and the associated building warrant.

The development continues the existing street pattern which comprised of single and two storey dwellinghouses and was designed to respect and complement the scale and mix of architectural styles and finishes of the immediate area.  Solar thermal systems were fixed to the south west facing roof slopes to provide between 40% and 60% of water heating demand.
