The objective of PAC is for communities to be better informed about major and national development proposals and to have an opportunity to contribute their views before a formal planning application is submitted to the planning authority. This helps to improve the quality of planning applications; mitigate negative impacts where possible; address misunderstandings; and to air and to address where practicable any community issues. Any amendments made as a result of PAC should improve the proposals and assist the efficient consideration of applications once submitted.
Montgomery Forgan Associates, on behalf of Gleneagles Holiday Park Ltd (the applicant), are promoting proposals for an extension to Stewarts Resort, Cameron, St Andrews, KY16 8PE. The proposals will provide up to 216 pitches for static holiday caravans on arable land to the west of the park.
As a consequence of the continuing success of the park, there is growing demand for caravan pitches which the park cannot supply through the natural turnover of holiday caravans within the existing site. Therefore, in order that Gleneagles Holiday Park Ltd can keep pace with this significant demand for holiday homes over the coming years, the land to the west of the park is now proposed to be developed for holiday use.
A Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was submitted to Fife Council on 7 August 2025 (Ref. 25/02262/PAN) signalling the intention to submit an application for planning permission. In advance of any planning application being submitted to Fife Council, two public consultation events will be held and the first will take place on Thursday 28 August 2025 between 3pm and 7pm at Cameron Parish Hall, Cameron, KY16 9AW.
