Our historic environment includes unique Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Scheduled Monuments, Archaeology and Designed Gardens and Landscapes.

The protection and enhancement of our historic environment is crucial in order to enable all of us, including future generations, to value and enjoy our heritage. With over 6,000 listed buildings and 48 Conservation Areas in Fife including the very first designation in Scotland (Falkland), MFA has built up specialist expertise in designing and delivering projects associated with these sensitive buildings and environments which demand appropriate, sensitive and often technically challenging solutions.

At MFA, we strive to apply our extensive experience of working on vernacular buildings to craft thoughtful and creative design solutions to assist in the preservation of our cultural heritage for future generations. We recognise that bespoke development solutions are almost always required, and we have built up a reputation for achieving results from sensitive house extensions to major development proposals.
